Recently, there's been this person prank calling my home phone. It's two numbers actually, a "Private Number" and some handphone number beginning with 811 (can't remember the rest of the number). He immediately hangs up after I say "hello". It wasn't really very irritating the first few times; I was just a little frustrated, that's all. Even when that person kept calling back, it didn't really bother me. Well, maybe 'cos I wasn't the one answering most of the calls, haha. My brother did. He was more irritated. But it was the last straw yesterday night.
I just got into bed at around 12. I think I was probably drifting off to sleep already, when the phone started ringing. It didn't immediately occur to me that it was that prank caller, but I still didn't feel like getting up to answer the phone. I decided to wait it out. After what seemed like a whole minute, the phone was still ringing. And mind you, my home phone's ringing tone is really loud and a little annoying. So I reluctantly got up to get the phone. And guess who was on the line? That mystery caller. Wth.
I was very sleepy then, and just answered with a quick "hello", hoping to end the call as soon as possible. Well, it did end fast. Too fast. That guy didn't even say a word before hanging up, immediately after he heard what I said. Bloody hell.
Today, after a few calls from that guy idiot, my brother decided to retaliate. We have caller ID, and he was stupid enough to use a handphone. So we called him back. Or rather, my brother called him back. I just sat back and watched. Once we put the phone on speaker while watching TV, haha. That was fun. The idiot said "hello" a few times then hung up. We got peace for a while. Apparently that idiot switched off his handphone after our numerous calls. But it was shortlived. At night he was at it again.
I don't know who this guy idiot is, but I'm quite sure it's not one of my friends. I think. I mean, who could be so wu liao? My brother suspects it's one of his classmates. I don't think so though. We recieved prank calls from his friends before, but after a few calls, and a prank call of my own (called them back with a falsetto voice, haha), they stopped. This one, though, is really persistent. I think maybe that idiot got a wrong number. Maybe he thinks he's calling some company.
Oh speaking of "calling some company", before we switched to a Starhub landline, our home phone number really resembled Westlake's, a restaurant. We used to occaisionally get phone calls for reservations, haha. I always planned to pretend that we were Westlake, and 'take down' their reservation for fun the next time they called, but I never went through with it. Didn't dare to, haha. Always ended up saying "you've got the wrong number".
Anyway, I don't mind the occasional prank call. But this person Idiot is going too far. I don't want to use my phone to spam sms, 'cos that idiot probably doesn't know my handphone number, but I'm gonna find other ways to torment that caller. Like using a payphone without inserting any money, so the call will end once the person answers. I mean it. Bring it on. No one prank calls me repeatedly and gets away with it. So there.
Watch this post for an edit with that number. Help me call that idiot too!
EDIT: Well, it seems after this day (23rd), he stopped calling. So I won't post the number here. But if he starts calling again...
