06S61!
Oh yeah! I like my class! I know quite a few people already. Two Sec 4 ex-classmates, two fellow softballers, and two Pri 6 ex-classmates!
Quite a relaxed but long day. When I first reached school they already put the class lists up at some notice board, so I went there to take a look. After a while of searching, I managed to find my name. Then I noticed Li Ting's name too. Another look, and I found Ruihong in the list! And then Li-en (didn't know she was in HCI). Getting really excited, I took another look at the names on the list and spotted Issac's name! Lol, Issac. I then left the board for the canteen, and met up Kai Keat, who didn't know his class yet. So, I followed him to the board again to help him find his class. And where did I find his name? In my class! Oh yeah!
Got into CT groups at the hall. That was when I realised that Zhi Yong was in my class too! Wonder how I managed to miss all these names the first time round... Just when things were turning out quite well, I heard Joe Chee's voice. Aargh. I didn't see his name in the list 'cos it was "Chee blah blah Joe". He's like a milder version of Choon Boon. Over-enthu and a little extra. I really hope he's not CT rep. Anyone but him...
The talk by the other Deputy Principal was really short. She also didn't seem very imposing. Both deputy principals really... don't seem like deputy principals... At least not like those at the high school side. Or rather, not like the one at the high school side.
Our CT leader is a joke man. A joke. I couldn't believe he was the faculty head at first. He's not serious at all. I suppose that's good for a CT leader, or maybe councillor, but faculty head? Hm.. Oh, btw, our class is in Artemis, I think. He brought us to our classroom. The wrong classroom, actually, 'cos some other class went to ours first by mistake. Anyway, our classroom is at the extreme end, nearest the high school side, haha. Met our civics tutor for the first time. Apparently that's what they call the form teacher. Mr Thomas. He's ang moh. I didn't really expect that, but it was a pleasant surprise. His accent wasn't one of those where you can't make the words out. It's not really strong too, so that's ok I guess. And he speaks quite softly. Doesn't seem really strict too. Teaches Physics. Good civics tutor? Dunno yet...
We had a short break, and then it was the song session. Sang some songs, and had the first taste, of "class spirit". Doing the swaying thing together. Our class started it first! The wave and the leg kicking weren't as successful, haha. Oh they finally got Chee Yang up on stage! Voice still as high as ever, haha.
Next was the dance session, the least enjoyable part of the day, for me, anyway. Wild Wild West is really long. I did manage to get quite a few moves right though. But for the most part...I just fumbled. The worst part- Right-jerk Left-jerk. Aargh. I can't/dunno how to shake my butt, lol. I could do my part of the couple parts though, cos the boy's part is easier. My partner was a bit lost though, so, well, just anyhow la, haha.
After the dancing (or the trying-to-dance-session), we learnt some weird cheer (can't really remember most of it already, except "shake shake shake", something like that. Then we went to 05S61's classroom for Seniors Meet Juniors.
I didn't expect much from the Seniors Meet Juniors. Was a little surprised that almost all from our senior class were in LEP. "Woah LEP," was my first thought. I think most of my class is taking PCME. And two are taking CLL instead of Econs. I may be the only one taking PCMG. Or maybe they gave me my second choice (PCME). Aargh. Anyway, but they made us move the tables away and arrange the chairs in a circle. Dunno why we had to do that though... after everyone introduced themselves, we went out of the class to another location for 'games'. But I suppose it wasn't all useless. Most of us took that opportunity to try and remeber our classmates' names. Except for one or two, I can safely say I now know all my classmates names. I think...
Played double whacko again. So many times already, I thought it might get a little boring. But nope, still fun as ever. Anyone who had to be the "whacker" 3 times had to do a forfeit. Only one guy had to do the forfeit though- a senior. And not just once- twice! The first one was some lame banana dance, haha (I've got a funny feeling we have to learn that dance...). The second he couldn't do cos of back problems. He was supposed to do five push-ups with either one girl or two guys on his back. Hm...
They then decided to play another game. I dunno what it's called. Two groups, seniors vs juniors. Each on one side, with a 'curtain' in between. Each time we have to send one person up to the cloth. And then once the 'curtain' is dropped, they have to call out the other person's name first. The one who fails to do so went over to the other side. It was fun, haha, 'cos we didn't really know most of the senior's names, except those which we partnered with for double whacko. After quite a few losses on our side, and only one or two on the senior's side, I decided, wth, just try, even though I was probably gonna face some senior whose name I didn't know. When the cutain was dropped, dunno why, I was stunned for a moment. Aargh. It was the only senior I knew! But at that moment I just couldn't remember his name! He immediately shouted my name. Crap. Kang Yu (I think that's how it's spelled). Won't be forgetting that for a while....
So the juniors (meaning us) lost. The forfeit was that we all had to (one by one) go up to a bowl of talcum powder with a ping pong ball in it and try to blow the ball our of the bowl. Obviously the talcum powder would get onto our faces. If you couldn't doing it within the time limit (10 seconds I think), they'll throw a water (according to Issac it's not water, but something that evaporates quickly. Hm...) bomb on you. Anyway, after seeing some of us fail to blow the ball out of the bowl, and some of us succeeding, I decided to just get it over with. They must have just refilled the talcum powder when it was my turn. According to Kai Keat, my whole face was white. My face was the most white. Aargh. Well, I couldn't see what happened to my face, so I just tried blowing again, finally managing to get that bloody ball out of the bowl. Lol- I saw white in the mirror in the toilet. It's quite hard to wash off, talcum powder. My hair turned grey too... When I got back out they were almost done. The seniors threw the remaining water balloons at us. Only the water balloons didn't break very easliy, so we got to throw it back at them. I just watched, haha.
We had pizza after the games. Canadian 2 for 1 pizza. They were giving that away at Open House too. Wonder who orders it. Senior treat junior. I think we're supposed to treat them also sometime this year.
That's about it. Hopefully our class will bond more next week. It's been a good start for the first day today though...
06S61!
Finally it's the weekend. I can catch up on lost sleep.
Woah... my posts are getting longer and longer. I guess I can write more when I'm describing events.
