I thought it'd just be a short meeting from 11am to maybe 2pm. But we ended up spending almost EIGHT hours (lunch time included) coming up with the class skit, which we have to perform on friday.
Well, we didn't actually spend all eight hours fruitfully. The first half and hour, we were waiting for some late comers...then we strolled into school, to the open space near the high school canteen. Just when we were gonna start something (or at least it seemed so), the security guard came. Another pissed guy (see previous post). Aren't we one WHOLE school? What's with the distinction between high school and JC? Stupid guard. Abusing authority. I remember it being said at the last Sec 4 assembly that as long as we were in school uniform, it was ok. Almost all of us were. I wanted to stay, but some of us decided to be 'nice guys'. Oh well. To make matters worse, it started raining as we were walking towards the college side. And there's no sheltered walkway connecting the college and high school sides. We all had umbrellas (some shared), but it was troublesome...
So we ended up at Zen Garden (I think that's what it's called). The space just below our classroom. Took a long time to do nothing, and then Calvin went away to write the script for "Miss Universe 2006". They wanted us guys to be the contestants! So it was just some more crapping and then we decided to go for lunch, at around 1pm I think. Lol, time flies at Zen Garden.
Lunch at Macs. The rice burger isn't that bad.... thought I think too much of the rice is not nice. Went back to school. Back to Zen Garden. Calvin went back to writing his script, and some of us tried to entertain with 'magic' card tricks. Haha, I was hoping the trick would last longer. Maybe some of them already knew the trick...
After Calvin was done, we wasted some more time playing bridge while the girls were reading the script (or at least it seemed like they were reading it. hm...). Then came the hard part. Sure, it was fun. For the girls. They weren't the ones who had to cross dress and act like girls the opposite gender. Only Joe and Calvin managed to pull it off though. Clarence and I couldn't do it. We aren't that gay, lol.
Then came the uneasy part. I suggested we scrapped the whole thing, and just have the adverts (there were supposed to be 'adverts' cutting the miss universe 'show'). Some people got upset, 'cos they didn't wanna make all of Calvin's efforts go down the drain. We were all very quiet, for like half an hour I think. No one knew what to do.
Fortunately, after some people left, and some people came back from toilet breaks... the rest of us kicked into high gear, haha. We came up with a whole new idea! "3 guys and 3 girls NOT to date". And there was no cross dressing involved. That was much better! I have to play one of the guys, but I think it should be ok. Definitely MUCH better than "miss curly wurly" (wth). So anyway, it was a really conducive one hour, compared to the rest of the day. We pretty much got everything worked out. I opened up a bit more (talked more).... but maybe a bit too much. I should never "Oh, YAH" ever again. Misunderstandings can kill (not literally, lol).
So everything came together last minute. I guess that's better than not at all. Now we just have to pull it (the performance) off.
Go Six One!
